Mokwena on Sundowns’ winning mentality

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena has revealed what kind of winning mentality he wants to instil in his squad as the Brazilians return to DStv Premiership action.

The reigning South African league champions recently recorded a convincing 3-0 win over Nouadhibou in the CAF Champions League before shifting their focus on to SuperSport United in the DStv Premiership.

Downs recorded eight wins on the trot in the DStv Premiership this season, as Mokwena revealed that his side has the desire to win every single match they participate in.

“The reality is we just go one game at a time, one session at a time and we try to win on the day and whatever it is we have to participate in, we do it to the best of our ability,” Mokwena said, as per Times Live.

“Even if it’s a friendly game, we try to win the friendly match. If it’s a small-sided game in training we try to win that.

“That’s the mentality we are trying to instil and that helps because you don’t have to play tournaments or matches in relation to the competition.

“You play them with the objective and mentality to win the match.”
