Simba started Sugar Plum Scrubs because she suffered from ingrown hairs and instead of buying a product to solve her ailment, she decided to create one. It all started in her Aunt’s home where she discovered a lavender plant growing in the garden that she now uses to make Sugar Plum Scrubs. After trying different methods of shaving and some treatments including laser hair removal and waxing, Simba finally tried exfoliation, which worked. However, it was while exfoliating her skin that she realized the potential for an all natural product, seeing that many other scrubs left her with a lack of understanding for all their ingredients. She then began to experiment with at-home remedies – creations of her own which she eventually shared with friends, family and eventually, the public.
Sugar Plum Scrubs are a natural, healthy substitute compared to many other body scrubs on the market that are often filled with harsh chemicals. It also combines the propertiies of multiple products into a single product by acting as an all-in-one exfoliator, anti-bacterial cleanser and moisturizer. Simba mixes lavender with rosemary, peppermint and other natural herbs as she believes that you should never put anything on your skin that you cannot ingest.
