Former champions RS Berkane and Simba SC will be targeting a first-leg advantage in their CAF Confederation Cup semi-final ties.

A North African derby between Berkane and CS Constantine headlines the semi-finals, with the former set to host the Algerian side at the Berkane Municipal Stadium in Berkane on Sunday night.

The Moroccan champions booked their place in the quarter-finals after defeating Ivorian football powerhouse ASEC Mimosas, while Constantine edged out their Algerian rivals, USM Alger, in their last-eight tie.

This will be the first-ever meeting between Berkane and Constantine in CAF competitions. Berkane have the edge in this tie because of their pedigree in continental competitions, having won the Confederation Cup twice.

Simba, on the other hand, are scheduled to play host to Stellenbosch FC at their temporary home ground, Amaan Stadium, in Zanzibar, on Sunday afternoon, in what will be the first-ever meeting between the two sides.

The Tanzanian giants, who reached the final of this competition when it was still known as the CAF Cup in 1993, booked their spot in the semi-finals after overcoming Al Masry of Egypt in the last-eight tie.

Simba will be up against South Africa’s Stellenbosch, who shocked reigning Confederation Cup champions Zamalek SC in the quarter-finals and this is their first-ever appearance in a CAF competition.
