Awards season is a celebration of fashion’s most dazzling celebrity moments. While the accolades are the main event, the red carpet is where the stars truly shine, making bold statements with their sartorial choices. This past week was a spectacle of style, with events like the GQ Super Bowl Party and the BAFTA Awards setting the stage. However, New York Fashion Week F/W 2025 brought its own unique energy, turning the city into a runway of eclectic ensembles.

As reactions to these standout looks pour in, the fashion landscape for 2025 is already taking shape. One thing is clear—florals in all forms are here to stay. Alongside them, sheer coordination and preppy aesthetics are making their mark. Meanwhile, as long as the cold lingers, the “mob wife” aesthetic continues to hold its ground, proving that bold, vintage glamour isn’t going anywhere. Old trends are cycling back into relevance, welcomed with a mix of nostalgia and fresh reinterpretation. Ultimately, it’s a promising season for fashion. Anything goes, as long as it champions individuality and confidence.
The Looks
Fantasia Taylor has set the internet ablaze with the announcement that she’ll only be performing eight shows in 2025. Fans are scrambling for tickets, celebrating the powerhouse vocalist, and getting deep in their feelings—for all the right reasons. But beyond the music, there’s something else to anticipate: her style.
Fantasia has mastered the art of pulling off a look anytime, anywhere. Just last week, she set timelines on fire in a striking black-and-white tux-inspired ensemble. She paired a crisp white top with a bold black belt and a sleek mini skirt, while a perfectly placed black bow tie added a refined touch. The real showstopper? A long, tailored coat that brought androgynous elegance to the look.
Meanwhile, at the BAFTA Film Awards, Lupita Nyong’o delivered another black-and-white fashion moment, this time in Chanel. She stunned in a white top tucked into a sheer black maxi skirt, with shimmering black trims and a statement bow detail at the chest. Her look was proof that simplicity still holds its place in fashion’s hall of fame.
This awards season, Cynthia Erivo has been nothing short of a breath of fresh air—staying true to her signature style while effortlessly commanding attention. Last weekend alone, she dazzled in a structured Balmain blazer and later turned heads in a Louis Vuitton couture dress, adorned with Tiffany & Co. jewelry. Clearly, the word basic has no place in her fashion vocabulary.
