Ghana Premier League title hopefuls Berekum Chelsea have finally appointed a new head coach after acquiring the services of Samuel Boadu on a one-year contract.

The Blues had been in the market for a new man at the helm since Christopher Ennin departed Golden City Park during the mid-season break.

Boadu had been working with the Ghana under-20 team following his exit from Heart of Oak just three games into the 2022-23 campaign.

The 38-year-old had famously guided the Phobians to a league and cup double in 2020-21 before going onto to retain the FA Cup trophy the following season.

Boadu takes over the reins with the team sitting sixth in the standings on 30 points, five behind leaders Samartex after 19 matches.

“We officially announce the appointment of Mr Samuel Boadu as the new gaffer of the club,” Berekum Chelsea conformed in a statement on Tuesday.

“Coach Boadu brings on board his rich experience and expertise.”
