Gayle King is standing 10 toes down in defense of Cardi B’s recent pregnancy announcement.

The TV host sat down with the Bronx-born rapper, who revealed she’s expecting her fourth child with her new partner, NFL star Stefon Diggs, during an interview that aired last week on “CBS Mornings.”

“I’m happy for her,” King told TMZ. “I walked away with a girl crush on Cardi B. I think if you underestimate her, you do it at your own peril.”

The anchor went on to say that the “Bodak Yellow” rapper “knows exactly what she’s doing.”

“She’s very excited about the baby. She says so is Stefon. And she is ready for a new album, new music and she wants us all to play, and I am here for her,” King said.

When the reporter informed King that people were “hating” on Cardi and claiming she had denied the pregnancy, she quickly came to Cardi’s defense.

“She didn’t deny it. She just didn’t respond to it,” King said.

She explained that Cardi wanted to share the news on her “own time” and keep things on her “own timetable.”

King also pointed out that many pregnant women “wait a certain amount of time” before going public — and emphasized there’s nothing wrong with that.

During the exclusive interview last week, Cardi opened up about how she’s feeling right now.

“I feel very strong. I feel very powerful that I’m doing all this work, but I’m doing all this work while I’m creating a baby,” she said. “Me and my man, we’re very supportive of each other, we’re like in the same space in our careers.”
