iamonds are forever but sometimes the deep treasures of life are intangible: think warm-hearted smiles, the confidence of a complete lion’s pack and the satisfaction that emanates from the reflection of a well dressed woman—the kind that depicts control of one’s life. Last week, Black female fashionistas across the globe keyed into the latter as they stepped out in tasteful attires which easily kept the shoulders squared and spirits high.
The looks
For a hot minute, there’s been portrayals of an array of elegant dresses displayed by Black celebrities and influencers in varying silhouettes so it seemed refreshing when Hollywood actress, Regina King chose to explore the world of menswear. The star pulled up in a Louis Vuitton suit set and a two-toned Alexandre Birman pumps for the Academy Museum Gala, a true King spin. Singer Halle Bailey joined the shorter-the-skirt league in a Miu Miu Spring Summer sultry mini skirt set in Paris last week for the Miu Miu show. A sparkling queen and more.
Birthday girl, Marjorie Harvey, stunned last week as she celebrated her 57th year on planet earth. The mother of seven served back-to-back slay and we surely couldn’t get enough. As she stepped out alongside husband, Steve Harvey, in a sexy sheer number that boasts crystal detailing, we could tell why Steve couldn’t take his eyes (and hands) off her.
The styles shared by Black celebs and top fashion influencers last week were nothing short of chic, edgy, and glamorous and it’s safe to say that we are, as usual, living vicariously through them. Black style queens.
