The most underrated destinations in Tanzania are going to leave you amazed. The main attractions of Tanzania like Serengeti National Park and Mount Kilimanjaro are spectacular, but the country offers far more , and if you’re a second or third time visitor, you may want to explore other parts of the country while on your holiday.

Below are some underrated places in Tanzania that need to be on your bucket list for next time.

1. **Ruaha National Park**: believe it or not, this is Tanzania’s largest national park and offers fantastic wildlife viewing opportunities without the crowds found in more popular parks like Serengeti and Ngorongoro. You may want a secluded and quiet place for your safari, so this may be the perfect place for you.

2. **Selous Game Reserve**: Not many poeple hear about  Selous Game Reserve , but you should know that it is one of the largest faunal reserves in the world and offers a more off-the-beaten-path safari experience compared to the other popular destinations you may have been to before.

3. **Pangani**:  In the Tanga Region, this lazy and quiet little beach destination is great if you want less crowds and a quieter experience. It’s a great place to relax and enjoy the Swahili culture. You could drive here from Moshi or Arusha if you have some extra time in your hands.

4. **Udzungwa Mountains National Park**: Known to be home to a variety of endemic species and offers great hiking opportunities through lush forests and beautiful waterfalls. Yet another park not many have heard of.

5. **Mikumi National Park**: Often overshadowed by its more famous counterparts, Mikumi National Park offers excellent wildlife viewing opportunities, including a chance to see the famous African “Big Five”.

6. **Saadani National Park**: Tanzania’s only coastal wildlife reserve, where you can enjoy a unique safari experience that combines game drives with beach activities.
