W hat’s a well-spent holiday without some good fashion ordeals? The shiny sequins you bought mid-year can finally be put to good use. And as cliche as sequins might sound for the holidays, there’s no festive New Year’s Eve party without flaunting some shimmers. The traditional route to fashion––although safe––could easily become a bore. This includes whimsical sweater layering, the color red sprinkled on everything, and an overall fun twist to even conventional fashion renderings.

Before the rudimentary office blazer reemerges or the WFH sweatpants come back into play, have a little fun with some playful but classy New Year’s Eve fits. How do they say it again? YOLO. Before you know it, the new year comes with all its seriousness.
Here are 10 last-minute New Year’s Eve outfits ideas
#1. Metallics

Attending a party for NYE’s. Opt for a metallic gold dress, toned down with neutral accessories. It’s a combo that never goes wrong. Choose distinct details like a huge bow or black accompaniments with touches of gold. The beauty is in the details!

#2. Velvet

This plush fabric can be worn as a floor-grazing dress for a formal event, or cozy pants set for casual engagements. It’s effortlessly luxe nature makes a velvet outfit look expensive with little or no effort.

#3. Two-toned denim

Denim sets will always be top-tier holiday outfit ideas. Serenade your guests if you’re hosting a party with a two-toned denim set. It creates an aura of unpredictability, while offering the elegance every host needs.
#4. Embellished bralettes

Blinged bralettes and matching denim are the perfect New Year’s Eve outfits for a night of frivolities. With lots of dancing and singing, belting away during Karaoke, or singing along at your favorite artiste’s show, this outfit proposes freedom and playful sass. Keep a jacket handy for when the low temps start to hit hard.
#5. Sequin skirts

Thinking of wearing elevated casuals for New Year’s Eve, then tow the high-low path of a white t-shirt and sequin midi skirt. This outfit works for both day and night wear. It’s an appropriate work outfit on NYE and perfect for a quick evening drink with colleagues or friends. This look also works well for those who prefer to spend New Year’s Eve in church.
#6. Red overload

Still savoring the holiday spirits? Then opt for a full-on red ensemble. It could be a stunning red dress or a turtleneck tucked into a midi skirt with silver accessories. Let the drop earrings and other the statement adornments come through. A nice sparkle is a welcomed addition for any lady in red––accompanied by a confident smile.
#7. Leather x sheer

Edgy does it! Heading to a concert or a Vegas-themed party? An all-red leather and sheer outfit is all the statement you need to make. Let your leather trench coat and sheer bodysuit show you’re fluently in fabulosity. By now, it should be clear that I’m obsessed with the bold hue.
#8. Mini floral dress

Date night and snappy mini dresses are a pair made in heaven. An all-over-rosette embroidered mini dress and mini structured purse is a sure way to remind him that YOU are the prize! A floral print dress and pantyhose is an apt alternative. Floral dresses are practical and easily-replicable New Year’s Eve outfits that rarely miss.
#9. A formal frock

Live in a big city? Move in elite circles? Then what is New Year’s Eve without an elegant ball or formal dinner? A poised formal dress is the best bet to become the diamond of the season. A bit of an exaggeration, I suppose. But a sleeveless ball dress or a mono-sleeve, fringe-trimmed maxi gown gives off an effortless poised vibe.

#10. Sequins x fringe

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, it’s party season and the last day of the year calls for an extra response to the season’s upbeat vibe. A sequin dress with fringe details styled with see-through tights is a frisky place to start the new year or end the old one.
