Man United join Chelsea, Liverpool and Newcastle in monitoring Adama Bojang, with 18-year-old striker dubbed ‘The Gambian Hurricane’ attracting interest across Europe

Manchester United have joined Chelsea by checking on Gambia U20 international striker Adama Bojang, 19, from Steve Biko FC.

There appears to be a four-way race developing for the signature of Gambian wonderkid Adama Bojang who has attracted interest from top Premier League clubs including Newcastle and Liverpool.

Bojang, dubbed The Gambian Hurricane, has attracted interest from a plethora of European clubs including Serie A champions Napoli, and looks set for a summer transfer.

The 19-year-old has been a prolific scorer for Gambian side Steve Biko FC but it has been his performances with the national team that have caught the eye of potential suitors.

A hat-trick against South Sudan a semi-final goal against Nigeria at the Afcon U20 Championships in April was followed up by further impressive displays in the U20 World Cup in Argentina.

Manchester United are now interested in pursuing a deal for Bojang but face stiff competition from Chelsea, Liverpool, and Newcastle.

Bojang is understood to be available for a cut-price fee of just £2.6million.

Interest from Bundesliga sides has apparently been met with positivity from Bojang’s camp who are attempting to decide the youngster’s next career move.

It is reported that an offer has been made by a unnamed club in the German top-flight, while there is also interest from RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt.

There are also further obstacles for English clubs to overcome with Premier League needing to loan Bojang out at first before he could qualify for a work permit.

Foreign sides would have an advantage on that front and could mean a move to Europe is a more favourable option for all parties involved.

Speaking after becoming the first Gambian to score a hat-trick in a CAF tournament at the start of March, Bojang said: ‘I feel so excited to score a hat-trick; these are my first goals in this tournament,’ he said.

‘Coming to his tournament and showing my talent to Africa and the world, and having a hat-trick for my country as a youngster, is so amazing.’
