The person who said too many cooks spoil the broth should have made it contextual, as Nigerian celebrities have been on a sartorial roll these past weeks. Their ensembles could be likened to a three-course meal served on a platter at a Michelin-star-rated restaurant–the stars cooked with an array of high-slit numbers, almost like a leg-day buffet.

The silhouettes were wide-reaching and potent enough to serve daytime and evening gatherings. A handful stood out with even more creative decorations, such as ruffles, cutouts, or metallics. It didn’t matter if they were wedding guests, launching businesses, attending film premieres, or strutting to a hangout; these Lagos celebrities and fashionistas confidently fixed their postures and closets to render remarkable style coordination.
Check out the chic looks Lagos celebrities and fashionistas flexed these past weeks…
#1. Osas Ighodaro

Wearing black with silver accents is an old trick in the books, but it’s still relevant. The combo portrays class and an effortless aura of elegance. Actress Osas Ighodaro wore a black velvet high-slit dress with a metallic rosette on the bust, finished off with statement earrings and black strappy sandals. The choice fabric was lightweight, easily the best choice when braving Nigeria’s warm weather. This week, wear that black dress you’ve been saving for a special day. Throw on the dazzle of silver accessories and get on your way to that special event.
#2. Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori (Kie Kie)

Sequins and aso-oke are not your regular collaboration but trust social media influencer Kie Kie to make it work. Looking like an 80s Afro stunner, she was the perfect wedding guest in a sequined Accost Collection halterneck dress paired with aso-oke headgear. The red hue was on overdose but still wasn’t too much. Her lipstick surrendered to the theme, and even so, her mini chain bag–all RED-y to make loud statements. She punched up the look with Catseye sunglasses and gold jewelry that made an impact.

#3. Mitchel Ukachukwu

Remember to work pastels into your wardrobe choices this week; they are subtle and hard to ignore. It’s almost like they are wired to be noticed, but give off the aura of effortlessness. Enough can’t be said about this pastel midi dress on beauty queen Mitchel Ukachukwu. The queen included an unassuming denim peplum belt on the midriff for dimension. It’s safe to say this is very demure (although the word has become utterly misappropriated in today’s viral landscape).
#4. Nonye Udeogu

Once the ’ember months hit, Nigerians catch the holiday bug. This includes resting on the idea of vacations and ease of life. Of course, there’s a last-minute rush to hit goals, but style becomes a serious affair. That’s the vibe influencer Nonye Udeogu gives in this yellow two-piece. From the light fabric, backless silhouette, freeing maxi skirt, statement jewelry, and slick back hair, the ensemble hit the right buttons. An intentional veering towards rest is always an idea to cuddle with. Prep yourself for the holidays with stylish resort wear that can be elevated or relaxed, as the occasion serves.
#5. Toke Makinwa

Big boss energy is definitely Toke Makinwa’s general aesthetic. To launch her perfume in Abuja, the star girl wore a draped Banke Kuku long-sleeve dress with a fit that stayed on her form. High necks resonate with a snatched pony to avoid a busy look, and Makinwa took this route with her hairstyle. An overall neutral-toned outfit still makes room for a pop of color, and in this scenario, blue and red entered the group chat as a mini bag and evening sandals, respectively.

#6. Priscilla Ajoke Ojo

Another event was the content creator Enioluwa’s “All of Us” premiere, which was a star-studded affair with celebrities and influencers packed as though in a one-way bus to the American dream. Influencer Priscilla Ojo graced the occasion in a black Udiahgebi cut-out dress. The alluring off-the-shoulder frock held a center cut-out and a scandalous side slit. With the news of her engagement to Tanzanian singer Juma Jux splattered everywhere on the internet, the influencer has not stopped stepping on necks with her fashion renderings. She punctuated the look with pink bow-decorated heels with flawless execution.
#7. Iyabo Ojo

Lastly, actress, and hot mom-in-law, Iyabo Ojo, applied pressure in a KY Luxury mini dress on the ‘Gram. The dress was a delightful color combination, complemented with loads of ruffles. She enlivened this with tinted glasses, an embellished clutch, and heel sandals that served sass.
