I know Osimhen is dangerous - Tomori tells Henry

AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori has revealed how he battled to stop SC Napoli striker Victor Osimhen on Tuesday night.

Tomori, who is of Nigerian descent, helped Milan hold Napoli to a 1-1 draw in an UEFA Champions League quarter-final second-leg clash played in Naples with Osimhen scoring in stoppage time.

Therefore, Milan won the tie 2-1 on aggregate and they progressed to the semi-finals where they will take on either Portuguese giants SL Benfica or Inter Milan of Italy next month.

“Obviously Victor is having a great season and I know how dangerous he is. I just tried to make sure I got my body in between in and the ball at all times as much as possible,” Tomori told French legend Thierry Henry on CBSS Sports.

“I was disappointed he managed to score at the end. I just tried to get to him as tight as possible and try not to give him a lot of space.

” We actually frustrated them and we limited the amount of times that the ball could get to him in dangerous areas, and when the ball actually came we defended really well, we got tied to him, we had a lot of cover,” the England international continued.

“Coming into a game like this with a player of that quality you know that you have to be tied to him, you have to be switched on and I think we were today.”

Osimhen has now scored 26 goals from 31 matches across all competitions this season and he also netted five goals in four matches in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers for Nigeria.
