Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced that the Black Stars will face Mexico in October this year.

The two teams are scheduled to face off in an international friendly at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, USA on October 14.

The Black Stars will play the North Americans as part of preparations ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers which are scheduled to start in November this year.

The GFA issued the following statement.

“The Ghana Football Association, the Federación Mexicana de Fútbol (FMF) and Soccer United Marketing (SUM) wish to announce that Charlotte’s Bank of America Stadium has been selected as host of the October 14 MexTour International friendly match, between 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup champions Mexico and African powerhouse Ghana,” a statement read.

The Black Stars, who are under the guidance of coach Chris Hughton, will face the Central African Republic in September this year.

This will be Ghana’s final 2023 AFCON qualifier in September before facing Mexico in the following month.
