Esperance part ways with Nigeria’s Eduwo

Tunisian champions Esperance de Tunis have confirmed they have parted ways with Nigeria international Kingsley Eduwo after a brief spell with the club, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

The four-time CAF Champions League winners made the announcement on their social media handles on Sunday.

Eduwo joined the Tunisian giants on a free transfer in January, after ending ties with Al Urooba of the United Arab Emirates.

During his short stint in Tunisia, the 26-year-old striker was on target on three occasions in 21 appearances.

Eduwo will however continue his trade elsewhere after Esperance confirmed they had ended their association with the player by mutual consent.

“Esperance de Tunis part ways with Kingsley Eduwo,” the club wrote on Twitter.

“Espérance de Tunis – Kingsley Eduwo: Amicable termination of the contract!”

The former Gateway United striker has travelled far and wide since the beginning of his career, having played for seven different clubs in the last 10 years.

He was with Gateway United in 2012 before joining Sunshine Stars in 2013. After a brief spell with the Ondo-based club, the striker spent two seasons with Lobi Stars, before travelling to Tunisia where he joined CS Sfaxien in 2017, making 48 appearances and scoring 10 goals.

He spent a season loan in Iraq with Al-Najaf and later joined Al Urooba.

The 26-year-old made his debut for the Super Eagles in 2017, under coach Gernot Rohr.
