As the sea masters its waves, so does a fashion girl her clothes and last week, Black stars across the world stayed true to course in glamorous ensembles, as well as simply elegant numbers. It was an interesting display of femininity with clear cut silhouettes, the kind that makes you put your designer on speed dial and your body itching for an event to attend.

Lately, it’s an ubiquitous fact to see fashionistas bring forth their best fits in stylish ways, especially this fashion season. From fashion shows to the Emmy Awards, where celebrities chose to speak in colors and sass, to hosting duties, last week Black style influencers delivered inescapable hotness in anything but passive fashion.
The looks
Actress Thuso Mbedu was every bit a fairytale princess in a dreamy Reem Acra tulle gown. The South African-born star rocked the outfit, styled by the duo of Wayman + Micah for the Creative Emmys. A subtle glam makeup by Rebekah Aladdin, paired with an afro ponytail hairstyle by Sharif Poston completed the absolutely stunning look, captured by Adeline Wohlwend. The entire look was put together in such an effortless manner that one would without hesitation believe the star “woke up like this.”
Talk show host and actress Tia Mowry was one shade of fabulous and that was indeed enough. The mother of two showed up in an all-white A.L.C suit set that made a case for the power a monochromatic outfit wields. Surely, this is a look you opt for when you don’t plan to take no for an answer.
As the host for the Most Beautiful Girl In Nigeria 2021, media girl Toke Makinwa graced our screens with a Tolu Bally all-over-embellished number. The star understood that it takes beauty to beget beauty and that is a departmental task she never carries over.

The styles shared by Black celebs and top fashion influencers last week were nothing short of chic, edgy, and glamorous and it’s safe to say that we are, as usual, living vicariously through them. Black style queens.
Check out last week’s best fashion moments as seen on Black style influencers…
