Algerian star Ismael Bennacer has revealed that he should be ready for the upcoming 2024 Africa Cup of Nations after returning to full fitness for AC Milan.

Bennacer required knee surgery at the end of the 2022/23 season after sustaining a knee injury against Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League and subsequently missed 27 games for the Italian giants.

Yet to start a game for Milan since his return to action, Bennacer recently mentioned that he should be ‘okay’ before January, following frequent visits to the doctor’s office.

“No, no. I should make it. Impossible? Not at all. Everything should be OK before January,” Bennacer said on his YouTube channel, as per sempremilan.

“It’s good. There is still some fluid in the knee. It’s a bit swollen, but I don’t see anything else. The new cartilage has taken root well.”

Bennacer explains his recovery process and gut-feeling regarding AFCON
