The Nigeria Athletics Masters (NAM) have elected Dr. Richard Ogunleye as their new president. He succeeds Dr. Gloria Obajimi, who has stepped down after completing her tenure.

Ogunleye, who works as an Assistant Commandant, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kaduna State Command, is also a lecturer at the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, NTI, and PGDE Kaduna.

He is currently the coordinator of sports at the NSCDC Headquarters, Sauka, Abuja. Ogunleye was elected alongside other officials at virtual polls held on Sunday at the sports complex of the Yaba College of Technology (YABATHECH), Lagos. The other members of the executive committee are Pastor Dele Ige (Executive Vice President), Christian Aiyegbeni (Vice President, Stadia), Adeyoju Adebusuyi (Non-Stadia), Dr Sofia Yahaya Kongola (Secretary General), Asabunor Reuben (Asst Secretary), Emem Edem Ikhaobomeh (Treasurer), Shola Ogudele (Financial Secretary), Irene Anetir Akhile (women rep), Rev Musa Audu ‘Oly’ (foreign rep), Olajide Peter Femi (Public Relations Officer) and Kelvin Odita (Welfare/Social Secretary).

The Nigerian Athletics Masters is an organisation established in 2014 and recognised by the World Athletics (WA) and the Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) to organise events.
