AC Milan player, Victor Eletu has joined the Flying Eagles camp ahead of the upcoming FIFA U20 World Cup in Argentina.

The official spokesman of the Nigerian u20 national team, Sharif Abdallah confirmed the youngster’s arrival, Soccernet. ng reports.

Eletu, a versatile player who plays both defense and central midfield positions, initially had scheduling issues with his club commitments at AC Milan, preventing him from joining the team in Abuja earlier.

However, he has obtained his entry visa to Argentina in Milan and arrived in time to bolster the squad ahead of a crucial warm-up match against fellow qualifiers Colombia in Buenos Aires.

Eletu, joining the team is expected to provide a much-needed injection of creativity to the midfield, which was deemed lacking during the recent U20 AFCON held in Egypt, where the Flying Eagles finished in third place.

The team’s campaign in the World Cup will kick off on Sunday, May 21, with a match against the Dominican Republic in Mendoza.

Group D, where the Flying Eagles are placed, presents a challenging task for the Flying Eagles, as they will face off against five-time champions Brazil and Italy, two football powerhouses known for their strong youth development programs.

Eletu’s addition to the team, however, brings a ray of hope as the Nigerian side aims to make a mark in the tournament and compete against formidable opposition.
