With the exciting MTN8 semi-finals on the horizon, reigning champions Orlando Pirates will host Mamelodi Sundowns on home soil in what will no doubt be the most exciting fixture in South African football this weekend.

Pirates, who claimed the MTN8 title for three years running, will rekindle their rivalry with the Brazilians on Saturday at the Orlando Stadium. Kick off is at 3:00pm CAT.

The Buccaneers booked their spot in the competition’s last four via a 2-0 win against Polokwane City at the Orlando Stadium last weekend, while Sundowns’ swept Richards Bay FC aside with a 4-0 win at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium.

Given Pirates dominance in the MTN8 in recent years, Sundowns will hope to advance to the final and ultimately win the competition for the first time since 2021.

Elsewhere, last year’s finalists Stellenbosch FC will take on Sekhukhune United in the adjacent semi-final at the Danie Craven Stadium on Saturday, with their fixture set to commence at 6:00pm CAT.

Babina Noko failed to make it beyond the quarter-finals in 2024, after they bowed out of the tournament through a 1-0 loss against the now relegated Cape Town City.
