MSNBC is gearing up for a powerful new special, “Black Women in America: The Road to 2024,” hosted by Symone Sanders Townsend, co-host of MSNBC’s “The Weekend,” and MSNBC legal analyst Melissa Murray. Read more about the special inside.

“Black Women in America: The Road to 2024” will shine a light on the pivotal role Black women are expected to play in the upcoming 2024 election. The special comes on the heels of a historic announcement as Vice President Kamala Harris officially became the first Black woman to secure the presidential nomination from a major political party. Townsend and Murray are set to dive deep into the minds of Black women across the nation, exploring their thoughts on this groundbreaking election and what candidates will need to do to earn their votes.

As part of their investigation, Townsend and Murray traveled across the country, interviewing some of the most influential Black women in America. The lineup includes award-winning actress Kerry Washington, political strategist Donna Brazile, Bishop Leah Daughtry, who previously served as the Democratic National Committee Chief of Staff, Minyon Moore, Chairwoman of the 2024 Democratic National Convention Committee, and distinguished lawyer Sherrilyn Ifill, among others.

The compelling special promises to offer a rich and nuanced perspective on the unique political influence of Black women in America. It aims to highlight their voices, their concerns, and their hopes for the 2024 election season. As the show navigates these crucial conversations, viewers will gain insight into the issues driving this demographic and what it will take for candidates to engage them effectively in November.

Catch “Black Women in America: The Road to 2024” on MSNBC or stream it on Peacock Sunday, September 29th, at 9 pm ET.
